The Red-breasted Geese with statellite transmitters have already arrived in Kalmykia on their way to the breeding areas. The first geese there in the end of February and now is the peak of their migrations. Some of the geese were named by children from the local schools in Durankulak and Shabla – Krum, Pantaley and Damyan. The tagged geese will provide valuable information about spring migration and the problems they face. Follow them and you on our site.
During the last capture of the geese in the Durankulak Lake area, a couple of Greater White-fronted Geese were also tagged with satellite transmitters. You can follow their flyway here.
