Bird and kite lovers met again in Shabla

From 2nd to 4th of September, the tenth anniversary edition of the Kite Festival took place near the city of Shabla. The festival is dedicated to the conservation of the rare and emblematic bird species of the region – the Red-breasted Goose and is organized by the municipality of Shabla and the Green Education Center.

The first edition of the festival was organized in 2011 by the Bulgarian Society for the Protection of Birds as part of a project to protect the wintering population of the Red-breasted Goose in Bulgaria. The program of the festival was quite colorful and rich – performances by children’s dance groups, live music, various workshops for children, etc.

The BDZP team presented itself with a stand with various art souvenirs and informational materials and told the numerous visitors about its work for the protection of birds and nature in the country.
