Kite Festival took place in Shabla on the 4th and 5th of September and we participated in it. It was a great fun and we had the opportunity to talk about the Red-breasted Goose.
About 70% of the population of the Red-breasted Goose winters in the region of Shabla and Durankulak and we told the visitors about the migration of the species, the threats they encounter along the way, as well as interesting facts about this small and beautiful goose.
For the children who want to learn more, we have prepared a short quiz with prizes. And a big kite flew into the sky calling for the protection of the Red-breasted Goose.
The Kite Festival was organized by the Municipality of Shabla as part of the activities of the Action Plan for the Conservation of the Red-breasted Goose, funded under OPE. The first edition of the festival was organized by BSPB within the LIFE project “Conservation of the wintering population of the globally endangered red-breasted goose”.
